Point and Shoot

Not the best photo quality but our weekend was spent a lot laying in bed sleeping, taking photos or watching movies.
Munchkin always sticks his tongue out as soon as he sees himself in the phone. So cute.
The above photo is my favourite in this bunch. So cheeky.
Kisses are another favourite facial expression munchkin does for photos.
Big smiles are always necessary even when in a bad mood.

What did you do this weekend?

Point and Shoot

Sunday afternoon our family of three went down to the Gold Coast to help my mum, who likes to be called impotent, de-clutter, clean and pack for moving.
Is this the latest over 50s craze?
We don't have a bath tub at home, much to munchkin's disappointment, so whenever we are at mum's he gets a nice long, splashy bath.

The mister was appointed bath supervisor and got a little bit wet.
Splashed out.
Munchkin had a tiny nap early morning so was extremely tired after his dinner and bath.

He slept quite poorly which didn't help us get up early this morning to beat the traffic and fog so I could go to an exercise class and the mister could drop the car off for a service.
Tired

Point and Shoot

On the weekend, Saturday afternoon to be exact, I hurt my big toe.

How? I have no idea. One minute I was running to the door from the bed and the next minute my toe was bent backwards on the ground. Two reasons why I don't run; I can't and I'm a klutz.

It hurt SO bad. I was crying and laughing at the same time laying on the bed. The mister didn't know what to do!
Not long after - why it bled I still don't know.
Initial observations (swelling, bleeding and bruising) led us to believe it was broken. I admit that whenever I hurt my toes or nose I think they are broken. In my defence though I told the mister that I broke my little toe (same foot) about a month ago and he told me it definitely was not broken. Well, it is still swollen so he's come around to the fact that yes it most likely is broken.
Happy Mother's Day!
My poor big toe is not broken and is actually not even sore today. Awesome! It still looks pretty and sore but thankfully is not swollen.

It was funny trying to walk on wet grass with thongs yesterday. It got to the point where I took my thong off and walked barefoot as it was easier. Today I'm going to attempt shoes. Flat shoes. Wish me luck!

Point and Shoot

This weekend we came home from our holiday.

The Saturday was spent in the car on the 8hr drive home.

It was a good trip. I didn't have a hangover or sleep most of the way like the trip down there. The dog spent most of the time in the back and munchkin was amazingly good.
Listening to music, writing, reading and day dreaming occurred on my trip. Thankfully without the dog's smelly breath breathing on my neck like the way down. Did I mention I was hungover?
Munchkin was full of happiness. His trip contained movies, dancing, sleeping and imaginary play mainly with his tiger and polar bear.
Munchkin dancing in the background as I daydream about having long wavy hair living in the country.
Dancing away to the music in his head. He is his parent's child.
My beautiful mum's road trip home was better than the trip down as her stomach wasn't as sore from having her gallbladder removed the Thursday before we left.

Her road trip included chats to the mister, plan making, teasing me, dancing and sleeping.
The mister drove all the way down to Port Macquarie and home to Brisbane. Just as he likes it.

His road trip included lots of lollies, chocolate, chats, teasing me, dancing and laughing at mum for sleeping.

As I said it was an awesome road trip!

Point and Shoot

I cheated.

I didn't take any photos yesterday, my mum did but she has them all on her phone.

Instead I took a photo of what munchkin did at daycare last week for Easter which was yesterday so I guess I didn't FULLY cheat.

To find out what we did yesterday for Easter check out this post.

Point and Shoot

This is just a teaser of another post I'll be typing up when I'm not so sick.

Yesterday some wonderful friends and I went to a luncheon and this was dessert, well one of them anyway.
That's all you are getting right now. I'm going back to my couch bed to feel sorry for myself.

Point and Shoot

This weekend was full on.

Saturday morning began early. I was out in the city at 9:30am to begin volunteering for the Brisbane Climate Action Rally in King George Square.
My role was to tell people where the rally was being held, hand out placards, get people to sign the petition ('We say yes to a price on pollution') and hand out stickers.

I met some amazing people who do wonderful work with Get Up, Union Climate Connectors, 1 Million Women and WWF.
The amazing Meshel Laurie was the MC and she did an amazing job. I even got to meet her and thank her for her amazing post on the Jackie O controversy.
There were some amazing posters and protestors there. These two really stood out to me.
The acting prime minister Wayne Swan even came which brought more media attention, thank you Swanie. I was twittering away when he went past me saying hi and again when he said bye. If I actually was paying attention I could have said hi and bye to him too. Oops.

After the Climate Action Rally I met up with a friend, Nat, and her little Smelly. We went shopping and eating then headed to the Free Refugee Rally and March. Nat and I met over facebook and our first face to face meeting was at a Homebirth Rally. Ever since then we have been good friends, I love her.

We were early to the Refugee Rally so we got to see the Stop Clubbing Seal protest.
It was intense. While signing the petition there was a video playing showing the horrific way they are clubbed. Not cool.

The Refugee Rally and March was wonderful. It would have been nice to see more people there but everyone there were passionate which made up for the lack of numbers.

We met up with a wonderful man and blogger, Grant. Read his blog, it is so worth it. Also, if you ever buy Big Issue in the city (near the Post Office) please go say hi to him. It will make your day. I look forward to volunteering for his new venture when it all begins.
We walked in part of the march then decided it was time to go home.
These rallies reminded me how much I enjoy rallies and being passionate about important issues. Rally Ames is back!

Point and Shoot

Our weekend was spent mostly in bed or on the couch.
We had such a lazy time.
The boys went to the mister's grandparents one afternoon while I read in bed.
I didn't leave the house at all.

It was that lazy. Wonderful.

Point and Shoot

This photo was taken Saturday morning when we were leaving the West End markets.

See that fence? Munchkin and I squeezed through a gap in the fence while the mister went over the top.
Why? We were lazy and couldn't be bothered walking around to get to the car. Plus it was an adventure :)
