What Do I Do?

Day six: If you couldn't answer with your job, how would you answer the question 'what do you do'?

I am fortunate enough to be able to spend time with my babies and the mister when he isn't working.

I do too much and not enough washing.
I clean but never enough. Is there such a thing?
I cook. Sometimes.
I will be studying and growing.
I help Lufflump with his education and speech.
I help sesame be herself.
I am the mister's team mate.
I exercise my body and my mind.
I help create a good environment for my children to grow in.
I try my best to have lots of fun.

My Day.

7:30 - I wake up still sick but the mister worked the night shift and looked after the kids yesterday while I was sick so it's more than fair that I get up with the children this morning. I get breakfast ready for the kids and read some blogs.

8:30 - Cooking and cleaning is so much easier with Daft Punk. I'm loving their new album so much.

9:30 - The mister is awake and we have breakfast together while watching The Block. The kids run crazy playing together. Loudly. I hockey tape the fridge so sesame doesn't keep opening it, something she does at least five times an hour. Lunch and dinner has been cooked already which feels fantastic.
Breakfast and The Block
10:30 - The first load of washing goes on while we all play soccer outside.
Soccer fun!
11:30 - The mister and lufflump go to the shops to get essentials. Sesame and I laze around eating grapes talking about how crappy Postman Pat is. Sesame goes down for a nap so I tidy and clean.

12:30 - Hang washing out and put another load on. Watch some documentaries on ABC iview while catching up on some blogging. The mister and lufflump come home with goodies like chocolate, V, apples and other groceries. Sesame wakes up. Her and lufflump help us make some soda waters with the Sodastream or at least try to but the gas bottle the mister just bought was empty. Back to the shop for him later.
Cuddles!
1:30 - I have a nice hot shower. We all have floor play with lots of cuddle attacks. We start filling the water feature for the fish as its gotten way too low. I feed the fish some peas which they love. The mister's mum comes over to drop some stuff off including my birthday present!
Awesome birthday present! Bearing press FTW.
2:30 - The mister and I clean my skates, wheels and bearings thanks to my present, a new bearing press. It's so lush and easy to use. The fish are back in the water feature and happy. I hang another load of washing out and put another load on.

Refilling the water feature.
Disgustingly dirty.
3:30 - Afternoon tea is lots of watermelon for all of us. We sit around talking and eating it together. Lufflump watches Transformers while the mister and I watch Deadliest Catch and sesame reads books in her room.
Deadliest Catch.
4:30 - Hang the last load of washing out. There's a spider attached to the clothes line so I hang most of it inside. The spider can stay. I get a phone call that my glasses are ready so I make an appointment for my dad and myself to get them fitted tomorrow afternoon. I call dad excited to tell him.

5:30 - It's time for me to get ready for training and walk to my wife's house to get a lift. The mister has a roast pork on which smells delicious! Sesame is a bit unsettled which means lots of lovely cuddles until she falls asleep.

6:30 - 8:30 - Roller derby training with some awesome people. It's very informal and we work on what we need to. It's great to practice, practice, practice.

9:30 - Home to drama on the webs. Some people don't realise how much their words can affect others. Need food, shower, some TV and sleep.

The Last Few Weeks

I hereby accept the 'Absentee Blogger' award. I have no excuses and I haven't been slack in other areas of my life. Anyway, let's get back into it. Blogging will be my bitch. Again.

The mister and I went on a kid free holiday to the Formula One in Melbourne. It was lovely, we reconnected, drank and walked a lot.
Tough pink car for me.
I love Webber. Not Vettel.
The mister and I all rugged up as it was FREEZING!
We met some awesome people at the backpackers and stayed with a good friend of mine's and her lovely family. I got baby and bunny cuddles which was a major bonus.
Bunny cuddles!
I missed the kids terribly and I swear I'm the only person who wants babies to sit near me on planes.

Dad and I went to see Guns n Roses with ZZ Top and Rose Tattoo. They were fun but I'm glad we were sitting down, it was crowded!
Guns n Roses finale.
Lufflump and I have started at home kindergarten which we've both been loving. We are also in the process of changing his daycares. We need somewhere closer and hopefully cheaper. I'm also excited for him to be in a certified kindergarten program. We'll be leaving Montessori but we can still use it at home. His speech is improving daily and it looks like he will be able to attend a mainstream prep class next year.
Making egg people.
Sesame is growing up WAY too fast. She's climbing and running everywhere. She is such a handful.
Running. Wasn't she just born?
It was the mister's birthday and we made a card. Lufflump drew a lovely picture. We didn't even know he could draw people. He's surprising us daily with his skills.
The mister's birthday card.
Our house has a water feature in the yard which was pissing us off so we bought some fish! We still have more to buy and some plants but it's a start. Apparently I feed them too much but dammit I want $70 giant goldfish.
Our fish. Lufflump called them all Nemo.
A lot has happened, good and bad. My time is currently been taken up by Lufflump's schooling. I'm struggling with including sesame as well. I'm learning a lot as well which feels so good. I hope to start studying accounting next month which is making this month very busy.

I hope to share some activities we'll be doing every week so stay tuned!

The Week That Was

These are our morning faces. Always needing more sleep.
Lufflump fast asleep in the car in a strange position. Sleeps like his daddy.
Daddy was a pony and sesame loved it!
Sesame also loves looking at herself in my phone. She's taken some awesome photos and videos.
She's claimed my ($5) chair as her own. I have big plans to recover this chair.
A gunman managed to scare Brisbane CBD. He was shot in the arm and no one else was hurt. Bravo police. Riot cops have the hottest uniform. Reow.
I've decided to keep the pink. Light, fairy floss pink.
We went to roller derby and watched our league kick ass and win all three bouts they were in.
The kids had lots of fun at derby.
Mummy and daughter.
How adorable are baby shoes?!
This boy is such a boy.
In honour of International Women's Day which was on Friday 8th March, I've answered some questions that I found in this news article.
If you could change one thing about the world today what would it be?
I reduce the large CEO's and big money makers' incomes and distribute it to low income workers. I find it heartbreaking that people work hard all their lives and don't have assets or a retirement fund due to a low income. In other words I'd reduce high incomes and raise low incomes.
What is the biggest difference between your mum's life and your own?
Technology. When my mum was a stay at home mum she would have to call or physically go somewhere to socialise whereas now we can easily do it at home. Skype and digital cameras have helped distant relatives not miss out on the special moments and the kid's growing up.
What's the one thing that you could not live without?
Technology. My sanity relies on it. Partly.
What's the best thing about being you?
My children, family and friends. I am so very lucky.
What are you hoping for?
Immediate future - a lovely, carefree trip to Melbourne. Long term - a happy, healthy, successful family.
What's your favourite thing to do?
Roller derby training, roller skate, cuddle with my babies, laugh with the mister, sleep, eat good food, watch bad TV and generally spend time with my family and friends.
What's the best thing about being a woman/girl?
The ability to give birth and the immediate feeling after when you get to hold your precious baby for the first time. The roller derby community also celebrates being a woman/girl wonderfully.
Who is/was the best man in your life? What makes/made him so good?
I'm lucky to have more than one positive male in my life. My opa, poppy, dad, the mister and my child are wonderful men/boys. I've also had many positive male friends who've helped me be who I am today. I like to surround myself with positive people who like to have fun.
Who do you look up to/what inspires you?
As a mother I look up to positive mothers. Successful single mothers amaze me, I admire them greatly. As an aspiring roller derby sportswoman I look up to amazing skaters like Bonnie Thunders, Suzy Hotrod, Smarty Pants, Bonnie D'Strior and Australia's own Short Stop. I look up to the women in my league too, they are third in Australia and that's awesome!
What makes you feel sad?
Other people's pain. I couldn't and don't want to imagine losing a child, the fact that people have gone through that pain makes me sad. No parent should bury their child. It's devastating.
What's your best memory?
The first time I knew I wanted to be with the mister (at 2008 Future Music Festival watching The Chemical Brothers), holding lufflump for the first time, and sesame's birth.
Who would you most like to help?
People with dual diagnosis who so easily slip through the cracks. The system sucks for them.

The Week That Was

I'm already getting slack with posting! In all fairness my laptop only just let me import my photos off my phone and the iMac's keyboard is playing up.
It was sesame's birthday weekend and she loved the attention.
Lufflump got an awesome dinosaur sandwich cutter. The first dinosaur unfortunately got decapitated in the cutter.
I made a mess in the kitchen all Friday getting the food ready for sesame's birthday party. I hadn't baked since 2011!
I also got my craft on. Minimal craft.
This is our new lovely rug. That is a huge nutella mark. Any tips on getting it out?
This is how impressed sesame was opening her presents.
Ermahgerd nerw ter!
If I scream at her she won't appear scary.
The mister mowed the lawn in the poring rain.
I tried fairy bread for the first time.
Lufflump played with bubble blowers.
We got to play with Aunty Amanda's fresh baby. Again. I got clucky then she farted.
The kids played nicely. Apart from that time or that other time.
We saw sunshine. For a split second.
