How To Scare Yourself. Easily.

Day two: Educate on something you know a lot about or are good at.
I am extra good at scaring myself. Catching public transport at night? Scary. Having your curtains open at night? Scary. Walking anywhere at night? Scary. Night time? Scary. Our old house had NO security. If we wanted the windows open we had to have our sliding doors open with no screens. Now we have security screens that are locked with keys, no reason to be scared. Or is there?

1. Watch too many crime shows. Law and Order, Criminal Intent, Hannibal, Bates Motel, Dexter and The Following are good ones to start with. Add some real life ones too like 48 Hours, Unsolved Mysteries, I Was Murdered and even Cops. Throw in some horror shows just for a different scare. American Horror Story, The Walking Dead and Supernatural are a good start.
2. Watch the news. Pay extra close attention to any crimes around your area and any mass murders that could have happened in your city.
3. Don't forget to watch scary movies too. The Grudge, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Wolf Creek, Saw, It, The Exorcist, Jaws, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Village of the Damned. A total mix so you know you are never safe anywhere.
4. Prefer books? Read The Omen, The Exorcist, Amityville Horror, Probable Cause, The Shining and any true crime book.
5. Make sure you watch and read them all at night when you are home alone or the kid's are asleep. Preferably on a windy or stormy night.
6. It's even better if you live in an apartment/townhouse as there are more bumps in the night that aren't yours. You get bonus points if you have a basement or attic too.
7. Go to the woods, cemetery, desert, lake, dark alley, bush, beach, country, city, anywhere remotely spooky. Don't think of just one movie/show/book, think of at least five to validate you being terrified.
8. Always drive with the fuel light on, you never know when you'll run out. You might be lucky and run out of fuel in the dark, miles away from any open petrol station.
9. Pick up hitch hikers especially the creepy looking ones.
10. Remember everything can be related back to a scary movie/show/book. Don't be fooled.

Best of the Past Week

I managed to capture the sweetest moment of my beautiful babies.
I also managed to cut a chunk out of the mister's hair. Accidentally.
Lufflump rocked this awesome hairdo courtesy of his daddy.
I rocked an Anythin' But Vanilla hair clip which lufflump broke the next day.
The kids and I went to watch NBR vs Sydney with my dad. Lufflump fell asleep during the second bout. His favourite part of the night was hi-fiveing the ladies and being an aeroplane thanks to Meg L'Mania.
The mister and I went on a lovely river skate to get to and from the movies. I fell twice on the way there and once on the way back. Battle wounds!
We also kind of adopted the neighbourhood cat. Just don't feed her smoked salmon, she'll turn up her nose.
This movie was awesome!
OMG storage porn!!
I'm loving Sara's Fitness pins.
NBR made the cover of HAM! Jambi was one of my Wednesday night coaches. Her first bout and first cover.
YUM!!
I'm lusting after the new neon Jelly Beans. Full of awesome!
Dog Shaming. Hilarious.

Best Of The Past Week

Skating Date Friday night.

We spent Friday night and Saturday at MIL's while our leaking unit got fixed. It was wonderful and very relaxing.
Sesame sat up by herself at six months three days.
Lufflump had a fun week with blocks.
Northern Brisbane Rollers aka NBR (the league I'm learning with) have an awesome up to date Facebook page. Our Brawl Stars beat Victoria Roller Derby League's Queen Bees Saturday night!

Eye opening tweets, including this quote from one of my favourite authors, can be found at Zen Moments.
Holly knows how to Pinterest. Her board Hilar. is exactly that - hilarious!
This shop makes me want to collect plates like the one above. All made by a Brisbane based artist too.
Big Ang is hilarious, I love watching her antics. I want to go to Gaydays at her bar!
I'm still in love with Jim and Pam's love story (The Office). Need these mugs!
I'm loving all the punk, rock and tough clothes coming out now especially this jacket from Modcloth.
Fat Mum Slim's latest photo challenge is here for September. Check out her amazing blog.

The Best News!

Source: NT News
After a horrible two days of waiting, worrying and stressing the news came through last night that Monique is safe. There was a death, her ex-boyfriend Josh, which is horrific and I send condolences to his family.

I am so glad Mo is safe, I know she is a strong girl who will get through this ordeal.

Thank you so much to everyone that helped get the word out via twitter, Facebook and Instagram. You all rock and made a difference! Fuck yeah social media!!

I'm so glad my friend is alive.

Time Consuming Adventure

I've been a bad blogger.

During the day I've been distracted by Criminal Minds, Deadliest Catch, No Ordinary Family and Pinterest

Oh how I am obsessed with Pinterest. I've got my dream home starting to come together.

There's dream kitchens with a sink addiction.

I've pinned funny and lovely quotes.

There's also awesome stuff I've found.

My days have been consumed by pinning. You can pin on your phone too using the Pinterest app. You do need an invite but it's as easy as registering your email address and they'll send you an invite. It's quick too and you can get pinning straight away.

Add me while you are there - Tutu Ames. Happy pinning!

Addicted. Obsessed. #TheBlock

I've kept a secret from this blog.

I don't like weekends. That's not entirely true. No, I don't like one thing about weekends and I do get bored.

7pm comes around and I'm not sitting in front of the TV with subtitles on and my phone in my hand. Why? The Block of course! I'm obsessed. 5pm comes along on weekdays and I get the jitters. I want it now! 7:30pm comes around way too quickly and if I'm lucky and it was an hour long episode it still goes way too quick. I've also watched it afterwards to see if I missed anything.

I am envious of the shopping, I wish I could do it tomorrow. I would love to paint our unit. Our bathroom is a gastly lime green and our living areas a horrid yellow that does not suit our furniture. If we could we would have changed it yesterday.

It's not only that which intrigues me to The Block. I love the houses. Terraces have my heart especially after staying in Newtown. My dream is to renovate or live in my perfect terrace in the heart of Newtown. Mind you after watching further episodes of The Block I may not want to renovate anything anywhere.

The shopping and the terraces are not the only reasons why I watch The Block though. It's also the contestants; Polly and WazJosh and JennaRod and Tania and Amie and Katrina (links are to their facebook pages). Each couple are so likeable! Their personality's shine through in every way. I do have my favourites though, Katrina and Amie

The sisters are so much fun to watch. I love their positive attitudes like skipping and 'window' shopping during the first challenge. Plus so far I'm loving their style. They aren't afraid to be daring and bold, but still stylish as they showed in their first room that saw them onto The Block.

Katrina is also on twitter and she is so lovely. Always willing to talk and answer questions. It's easy to see she's loving watching her journey on The Block and is so thankful to have had this opportunity. I'm also enjoying reading her journey through her blog, Katrina Chambers. We also share a love for an amazing woman, A-M. Anyone who loves A-M is worth loving!

Do you love The Block? Who is your favourite couple?
