Sesame - Week Twenty-Six

This week has been a big sesame related week.

Sunday I started spotting again. I called the midwives and we decided it was nothing. I think it's because I was actually out of the house and relatively active at the markets that day. My poor body must have been in shock. I'm taking it as a sign that I need to get out more.

We had a scan to check on the echogenic focal spot on the left ventricle of sesame's heart. The sonographer was just lovely explaining everything thoroughly. It can sometimes be a sign of down syndrome but without any other abnormalities found in the scan it's usually just a calcium spot, which is what sesame most likely has. It was definitely reassuring having the scan and I'm so grateful to the midwives for rushing the scan. Not only are they on call 24/7, they actually care. Wonderful.
Hello sesame!
I'm really feeling quite tight. My shirts are shrinking too, not the best in summer when I don't want to have to wear a singlet underneath. I do have a selection that I can wear and be very comfortable.

Another thing I didn't suffer with lufflump is indigestion. Man, that sucks. Every night after I take my tablet with water I lay in bed cursing indigestion. If anyone has any cures I'm all ears! Just no horrid drinks with ginger, onion and garlic.
Popped!

  2. Haha Ames- you're so tiny still. I have had a belly like your 26 week bump after a few days sans poo!!

So glad that the scan was good and that the spotting was nothing. I have to have a 34 week growth scan just after Christmas to see if the Drs need to induce me early due to my anti E. I'd rather not have the scan- it was impossible for me to tell the gender at FAS but I suspect it may be rather more developed now!!

I have a great recipe for nashi pear, rocket and Parmesan salad that is GREAT for heartburn. I'll add it here for you x

  3. Here's the recipe. It's from an awesome book called Feeding the Bump by Lisa Neal.

*Pork Medallions with Nashi Pear, Parmesan and Rocket Salad*

"This recipe is recommended for those experiencing reflux or heartburn. Rocket is excellent for digestion, as is the nashi pear. Nashi pears are quite neutral in flavour but are incredibly juicy and cleansing to the palate. THey can be substituted for regular pears if desired.

    1x 400g pork fillet
    1 tsp olive oil
    1/2 tsp whole fennel seeds
    1/2 tsp ground ginger
    1 nashi pear
    1/2 cup shaved parmesan
    large handful baby rocket leaves
    1/2 cup walnuts

    dressing:
2 tbs EVOO or grape seed oil
    1 tbs cider vinegar
    cracked black pepper

    1. Preheat grill or bbq. COmbine all dressing ingredients and shake or whisk.
    2. Remove any visible fat from the pork and baste with the olive oil.
    3. Slightly grind the fennel seeds to release flavour. COmbine with the ginger and rub into the pork.
    4. Place all salad ingredients in a large salad bowl and toss together.
    5. Grill or BBQ pork for approx 5 mins on each side, or until cooked through, turning the fillet only once. Dress the salad and serve with the pork.

Good source of: protein, thiamine, folate, cit ADC and B12, calcium, magnesium, beta-carotene, fibre, EFAs
Good for mother: digestive problems, fatigue, anaemia, healthy blood and haemoglobin production
Good for baby: providing building blocks and fuel for proper foetal growth, strong bones, teeth and nails.
